The Top Article of the Week
It's easy to get caught up in the minutiae of training technique and nutrition strategies; some of us could argue for hours over squatting to parallel versus ATG, deadlifting sumo versus conventional, or eating clean versus flexible dieting. Like most things in fitness, though, as in life, the ultimate answer to these questions isn't a simple yes or no, black or white.
One of those not-so-simple questions is whether it is better to sit back in the squat or to sit down in the squat. This week, Greg Nuckols tackles the topic, reviewing the variables for each technique, including performance variables and muscle activation, and coming to a very familiar conclusion about which squat technique is better. Like most things in fitness, his answer is really, "it depends."
